The Editorial Office of Global Health Economics and Sustainability (GHES) and AccScience Publishing would like to express our sincere appreciation to Prof. Mihajlo (Michael) Jakovljevic, M.D., Ph.D., MAE, for his valuable service and contributions as the Founding Editor-in-Chief of GHES.
Prof. Jakovljevic served as the Founding Editor-in-Chief of GHES from the journal’s establishment in spring 2023 until May 2026. During his tenure, he played an important role in shaping the journal’s interdisciplinary academic positioning and supporting its early development as an international platform dedicated to global health economics, healthcare sustainability, health financing, and related policy and research areas.
Under his founding editorial leadership, and with the collective efforts of the Editorial Board, reviewers, authors, and publishing team, GHES has made meaningful progress in its early stage of development. The journal has established an international Editorial Board, received a substantial number of manuscript submissions, published a growing body of scholarly articles, and achieved increasing visibility through article views, downloads, citations, and inclusion or coverage in multiple academic indexing and discovery platforms.
GHES sincerely thanks Prof. Jakovljevic for his time, expertise, academic guidance, and professional commitment to the journal’s establishment and growth. In recognition of his founding leadership and contributions, Prof. Jakovljevic will be acknowledged in the honorary capacity of Founding Editor-in-Chief Emeritus.
As GHES enters its next stage of development, the journal will continue to build on the foundation established during its founding period and remains committed to publishing high-quality interdisciplinary research addressing the long-term sustainability of healthcare provision and financing worldwide.
We wish Prof. Jakovljevic continued success in his academic, editorial, and professional endeavors.
