Abstract

Utilizing online health data records helps in disseminating, organizing, and securing vital medical data, yet their availability remains scarce. To address this gap, we implemented an online database, REDCap®, in a cardiac rehabilitation service, in addition to describing the clinical profile of program patients. The electronic health record implementation was carried out across four stages, from organizational setup to record initiation. Four forms were created, with 83 input fields in total, and 75 patients were registered. The majority of patients were male, white, elderly, employed, and diagnosed with ischemic heart disease. The implementation of an online database on the REDCap electronic platform in a cardiovascular rehabilitation service enhances data security and insights into patient demographics. These patient data can promote the dissemination of the importance of this service in preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases.
