Arts & Communication Launches New Special Issue Led by Prof. Li Zhao and Prof. Xuan Zhang

Arts & Communication is pleased to announce the launch of a new Special Issue entitled “Art Therapy: Interdisciplinary Research, Cultural Grounding and Clinical Translation.” The Special Issue is jointly led by Prof. Li Zhao, Associate Editor of Arts & Communication, and Prof. Xuan Zhang as Guest Editors.

As art therapy continues to gain recognition across healthcare, education, and community settings, there is an increasing need to strengthen dialogue between research, clinical practice, and cultural understanding. This Special Issue aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for exploring how art therapy can be informed by diverse cultural contexts while advancing evidence-based practice and clinical application.

The Special Issue welcomes contributions that examine theoretical developments, empirical research, innovative methodologies, and practical applications in art therapy. Particular attention is given to research that bridges disciplinary boundaries and promotes the translation of findings into real-world therapeutic, educational, and community environments.

Key topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
