Special Issue Information

Bioprinting is rapidly transforming regenerative and translational medicine by enabling the precise fabrication of living constructs that replicate the structural, mechanical, and biological characteristics of native tissues. This Special Issue will highlight advances in 3D and 4D bioprinting technologies, innovative bioinks, hydrogels, decellularized extracellular matrices, and multifunctional bioactive materials. We welcome original research and reviews addressing the design, fabrication, characterization, and biological evaluation of bioprinted constructs for tissue regeneration, disease modeling, drug screening, and personalized medicine. Particular emphasis will be placed on the integration of material properties, cellular responses, biomechanics, vascularization, and functional maturation. Applications may encompass musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neural, skin, organ, dental, and craniofacial tissues. The collection also seeks studies addressing scalability, standardization, preclinical validation, and regulatory considerations that facilitate the translation of bioprinting technologies from laboratory research to clinical practice.
