1. Aims and Scope
The journal Design + aspires to establish itself as a pivotal platform for global academic exchanges and creative industries by disseminating high-quality papers and research results. It endeavors to delve into the fusion of design with art, technology, business, users, and culture, emphasize creative integration and sustainable development, and promote the application of sustainable development principles in creative industries and society, thus to improve the value and vitality of the creative industries and contribute to the realization of global sustainable development objectives.
The scope of Design includes, but is not limited to:
- Design innovation and art:Pushing the boundaries of creative thinking, exploringnovel design theories and methods and artistic expression forms, conducting practice-led design research (i.e. advanced products and service design), and promoting the application of design and art in sustainable development.
- Integration of design innovation and technology: Studyingthe interactive relationship between technology and innovation, exploringthe contribution of technological innovation to sustainable development, and promoting the application of new technologies in design and art. The scope includes engineering, ergonomics and human factors in design, digital design methods (including computer-aided design and innovations in digital-twin design), and design and smart technologies (including smart homes, cities, manufacturing and society).
- Integration of design innovation and business: Studyingbusiness models and innovation strategies to promote the dissemination and application of sustainable development principles in business, and exploringthe synergy between business and creativity.
- Research on sustainable development and ecosystem design: Studyingthe impact of user participation in innovations, understandingthe relationship between user needs and sustainable development, and exploring the role of user participation in promoting sustainable development.
- Integration of design innovation and culture: Conducting in-depthresearch onthe relationship between culture and innovation, exploring the impact of culture on innovation, promoting the design for happiness and human prosperity and the cultural impact-centered design, and tapping into the positive impact of cultural diversity on sustainable development.
2. Open Access
Gold open access. All articles published by Design are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately from the date of publication. For further information, please refer to Open Access Policy.
3. Copyright and License to Publish
Articles in Design are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). The CC BY 4.0 allows for maximum dissemination and re-use of open access materials and is preferred by many research funding bodies. Under this license users are free to share (copy, distribute and transmit) and remix (adapt) the contribution for any purposes, even commercially, provided that the users appropriately acknowledge the original authors and the source.
Copyright is retained by authors. Authors are required to sign a License to Publish (which can be downloaded from the journal's Author Instructions), granting AN, which identifies itself as the original publisher, exclusive rights to publish their articles, and granting any third party the right to use the articles freely as long as the integrity is maintained and the original authors, citation details and publisher are identified.

7. Research and Publication Ethics
AN adheres to the Code of Conduct and the Best Practice Guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The Editors of this journal enforce a rigorous peer-review process together with strict ethical policies and standards to contribute to the field of scholarly publication by publishing high-quality scientific works. Unfortunately, cases of plagiarism, data falsification, image manipulation, inappropriate authorship credit, and the like, do arise. The Editors of Design take such publishing ethics issues very seriously and are trained to deal with such cases with a zero-tolerance policy. To verify the originality of the content submitted to the journal, we use CrossCheck (powered by iThenticate) to check submissions against previous publications.
