Abass Alavi is an Iranian-American physician-scientist specializing in the field of molecular imaging, most notably in the imaging modality of positron emission tomography (PET). In August 1976, he was part of the team that performed the first human PET studies of the brain and whole body using the radiotracer [18F]Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG). Alavi holds the position of Professor of Radiology and Neurology, as well as Director of Research Education in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Over a career spanning five decades, he has amassed over 2,300 publications and 60,000 citations, earning an h-index of 125 and placing his publication record in the top percentile of scientists.

He is also known for introducing hyperthermia treatment, along with external beam radiation therapy and has a keen interest in brachytherapy administration for cancers of the head and neck, breast, and cervix. He has contributed to chapters on Breast and Lung Monograms. He is a fellow at the International College of Surgeons. He is also a founding fellow of the Indian College of Radiation Oncology. He is a past National President of AROI (Association of Radiation of India), Indian Brachytherapy Society (IBS), and Past Vice-President of Federation of Asian Radiation Oncology's (FARO). Currently, Dr. Ramesh is the president of IAHOM (Indian Association of Hyperthermic Oncology and Medicine) and President-Elect of ISO (Indian Society of Oncology). Dr. Ramesh has been awarded the Dr. B.C Roy award from IMA, Karnataka State Branch. He has also been an orator on many occasions at various national professional organisations.

David Brasse received the Ph.D. degree in physics, Paris V University, Paris, France, in 1999, with a focus on PET imaging using SPECT systems. He has been the Research Director, Level 2 of CNRS, IPHC, UMR 7178, since 2012. He has authored two book chapters, more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, and two patents. His research interests include micro-dosimetry, proton therapy, PET imaging and SPECT systems, radiation therapy, and the interface between physics, biology, and medicine—preclinical instrumentation. Dr. Brasse was awarded the Scientific Excellence Award from CNRS in 2018.

Dr. Alfio Ferlito is Formerly Director of the Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Udine School of Medicine from 2003 to 2009 and Professor and Chairman of the ENT Clinic at the same University from 1997 to 2013. He graduated in medicine at the University of Bologna in 1968. He completed his residency programme in Otolaryngology and subsequently in pathology. He worked at the ENT Department of Padua University from 1970 to 1997. Since 2009 he is the Coordinator of the International Head Neck Scientific Group.
Dr. Alfio Ferlito received many honors and awards during his career. He served as editor, co-editor, assistant editor or reviewer for the 736 journals. He has collaborated in writing articles, editorials, commentaries, letters to the editor, special issues, book chapters and books with 665 international experts. He has edited a three-volume book entitled Cancer of the Larynx (CRC Press, Boca Raton, 1985) and three other books entitled Neoplasms of the Larynx (Churchill Livingstone, Edinburgh, 1993), etc. He is Editor of four issues of ORL Journal for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He has been author and co-author of 657 referred publications in 70 medical journals and 54 chapters in various books. He is a fellow or a member of the many societies. He collaborated as a member of the World Health Organization’s Committee on Histological Typing of Tumors of the Upper Respiratory Tract and Ear. He is also a member of the Laryngeal Cancer Association’s Committee on the Classification of Laryngeal Cancer. He was a consultant to Yale University. He was a consultant to Yale University. He has delivered prestigious lectures all over the world. In 2006 he gave the 2nd Morrison Lecture in San Francisco and the 19th Som Lecture in New York.
