Arts & Communication is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Sheng Kuan Chung as the new Editor-in-Chief of the journal, effective March 26, 2026.
Prof. Chung is a distinguished scholar in art education and visual culture studies and currently serves as Professor in the College of Education at the University of Houston, United States. His research and teaching focus on art education, visual culture, curriculum development, multicultural education, creativity, and interdisciplinary approaches to arts learning. Throughout his academic career, he has made significant contributions to advancing scholarship and practice in arts education through extensive research, publications, and international academic engagement.
As Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Chung will provide strategic leadership for Arts & Communication, supporting the journal’s mission to promote innovative and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of arts, culture, media, communication, and education. Under his guidance, the journal will continue to strengthen its international profile, expand scholarly collaboration, and foster dialogue across diverse academic and cultural contexts.

Prof. Sheng Kuan Chung is a faculty member in the College of Education at the University of Houston. His scholarly interests include art education, visual culture, multicultural and global education, curriculum studies, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning. His work has contributed to the development of innovative educational practices and the promotion of cultural understanding through the arts.
