Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS)
The Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS) is dedicated to advancing the field of immunology across the African continent. With a mission to enhance communication and education among Africa-based immunologists, FAIS promotes vital research, clinical practices, animal care, and advocacy efforts that address immune system-related health challenges. As a unifying body, FAIS bridges immunology societies from 17 African countries, working collaboratively to complement the efforts of other global organizations. Through its work, FAIS aims to reduce immune system-related morbidity and mortality, fostering a healthier future for Africa.
International Union of Immunological Societies
The International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) is a global organization uniting over 80 immunology societies. Founded in 1969, it represents more than 60,000 immunologists worldwide. IUIS promotes collaboration, diversity, education, and scientific advancement in immunology. It operates through specialized committees covering clinical immunology, vaccines, education, and more. Every three years, it hosts the International Congress of Immunology (next in 2025, Vienna). IUIS also offers educational webinars and resources through its ImmunoHub platform.
