The JCBP's 4th Live Lecture of the Editorial Board: Study on the Mechanism of Sex Hormones in Female Depression

The Journal of Clinical and Basic Psychosomatics will hold this live lecture titled "Study on the Mechanism of Sex Hormones in Female Depression" on Bilibili and WeChat Channels at 20:00 on July 31, 2025 (GMT+08:00).

Depression is characterized by its complex diversity, which is reflected in the variations of depression experienced by different genders, ages, and individuals. It is well-known that women have approximately twice the lifetime risk of depression compared to men, and their risk is significantly higher during the entire reproductive period from menarche to menopause. Both endogenous and exogenous sex hormone exposure are critical determinants of susceptibility and resistance to depression in women. The premenstrual phase, postpartum period, and perimenopausal period are high-risk stages for female depression and are also periods of significant fluctuations in sex hormones. Revealing the relationship between sex hormones and female depression during these critical periods and clarifying the role of sex hormones in female depression are crucial for effectively improving the diagnosis and treatment rates of female depression.

We are honored to have invited Associate Professor Yuqun Zhang, who is a medical doctor, master's supervisor, and editorial board member of JCBP from the Nursing School of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, as the speaker for this conference. Professor Qiang Wang, the deputy director of the Mental Health Center of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, doctoral supervisor, and editorial board member of JCBP, will serve as the moderator. We sincerely welcome scholars to actively participate in this academic live lecture.
