The JCBP's 2nd Live Lecture of the Editorial Board: Social Isolation Stress and Cardiovascular Disease

Complex and close two-way communication exists between the brain and the heart. How psychological stress affects the occurrence and development of cardiovascular disease remains a mystery. Among them, social interaction is a basic human spiritual need, and social isolation stress is an important psychological stress source that affects survival and health. The occurrence of social isolation stress in modern society is increasingly common, and it coexists with various diseases represented by cardiovascular diseases. However, the role and mechanism of social isolation stress on cardiovascular disease are not fully understood. This lecture will focus on exploring the above issues from a multidisciplinary perspective, combining domestic and international progress and the research carried out by the speaker, and analyzing from the following three aspects: (1) The effect of psychological stress represented by social isolation stress on cardiovascular disease; (2) The mechanism by which psychological stress exacerbates cardiovascular disease; (3) Potential prevention and treatment strategies for stress-related cardiovascular diseases.

We are honored to invite Professor Yan Liang, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neuroscience, doctoral advisor, and affiliated with Guangzhou Medical University Affiliated Brain Hospital, as the speaker for this meeting. Professor Jun Chen, the Director of the Patient Experience and Smart Healthcare Department, the Office Director of the Clinical Research Center, the chief physician, the doctoral advisor, and the Shanghai Mental Health Center, will serve as the chair.  We sincerely welcome scholars to participate actively in this live academic lecture.
