The 15th Live Lecture of JCBP: Expert Consensus on Rational Drug Use for Psychiatric Disorders Related to Critical Care Medicine

Currently, in the intensive care units of general hospitals, patients with acute and critical illnesses often experience mental health issues before and after treatment, such as delirium, anxiety, depression, agitation, and more. There are no domestic guidelines or standards for the pharmacological treatment of psychiatric disorders related to critical illnesses. The "Expert Consensus on Rational Drug Use for Psychiatric Disorders Related to Critical Care Medicine" is an expert consensus developed by the Psychosomatic and Critical Care Collaboration Group of the Chinese Psychosomatic Medicine Association, in collaboration with critical care medicine experts. This consensus elucidates the principles and procedures for the standardized use of drugs for psychiatric disorders related to critical care medicine, as well as the clinical indications, precautions, and specific drug choices for various psychiatric medications. Its aim is to provide practical recommendations and guidance for the clinical application of psychiatric medications in critical care medicine. In the future, the treatment of critical illnesses in general hospitals will increasingly involve cross-disciplinary and multi-professional collaboration, and the participation of psychiatrists and psychological professionals will be crucial to improving the treatment outcomes of psychiatric disorders among critically ill patients.
