The 31st Live Lecture of JCBP: Advances in Drug Treatment for Refractory Depression

The Journal of Clinical and Basic Psychosomatics will hold this live lecture titled "Advances in Drug Treatment for Refractory Depression" on Bilibili and WeChat Channels at 20:00 on July 10, 2025 (GMT+08:00).

Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) refers to depression that fails to respond to at least two adequate trials of antidepressant medications, posing significant challenges in clinical management. In recent years, remarkable progress has been made in the field of pharmacological treatment: optimized combination strategies of traditional antidepressants (such as SSRIs and SNRIs) with agents like mirtazapine and bupropion have become fundamental approaches; novel drugs such as NMDA receptor antagonists (esketamine nasal spray) have brought breakthroughs for TRD through rapid-acting mechanisms; and the augmentation effects of antipsychotics (such as aripiprazole and quetiapine) have received evidence-based support. Additionally, emerging targeted therapies, including glutamatergic modulators (like lamotrigine), opioids (such as buprenorphine), and anti-inflammatory agents, are currently being explored. Future research directions include individualized medication, biomarker-guided treatment, and multidrug combination strategies, aiming to improve efficacy and reduce the burden of side effects.

We are honored to invite Professor Kangguang Lin, a PhD in Psychology from the University of Hong Kong, chief physician, doctoral supervisor, and department director, as the keynote speaker for this conference. Professor Shi Liu, chief physician and doctoral supervisor from the Department of Gastroenterology, Wuhan Union Hospital, will serve as the host. We sincerely welcome scholars to actively participate in this academic live lecture.
