The inaugural issue of An International Journal of Optimization and Control: Theories & Applications (IJOCTA) was released, marking the beginning of its publication schedule.

2013
IJOCTA was accepted for listing in the MathSciNet database, expanding its reach to a broader mathematical audience.

MathSciNet is an electronic publication offering access to a carefully maintained and easily searchable database of reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for much of the mathematical sciences literature. Over 100,000 new items are added each year, most of them classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification. Authors are uniquely identified (by their MR Author ID), enabling a search for publications by individual author rather than by name string.

The journal was indexed in the Tubitak ULAKBIM - Engineering and Basic Sciences Database, providing greater visibility for articles published in IJOCTA.

2018
IJOCTA was indexed in the Scopus® database (starting from Vol. 8, Issue 1), which enhanced its credibility and accessibility in the global scientific community.

IJOCTA published its first special issue, titled "Fractional Calculus for Modelling in Science, Engineering, and Control," with guest editors from top institutions around the world.

2023
IJOCTA received its first Impact Factor of 1.6 based on Clarivate's Journal Citation Reports™ (2022). This achievement marked a major milestone in the journal’s development and academic recognition.
The journal switched to a quarterly publication schedule (in January, April, July, and October) as of 2024, reflecting the increasing submission volume and the journal’s evolving prominence in its field.

2024
IJOCTA moved to the ACC Science Publishing platform starting from Vol. 15, Issue 1 (January 2025). This move promises further advancements in digital accessibility and publishing infrastructure.
