Before you decide to publish with Green Technology & Innovation (GT&I), please read the following items carefully and ensure that you are familiar with the Editorial Policies and the requirements listed below.
1.1 Topic Suitability
The topic of the manuscript must fit the scope of the journal. Please refer to Aims and Scope for more information.
1.2 Open Access and Copyright
The journal adopts a Gold Open Access publishing model and distributes content under the Attribution Noncommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). Copyright is retained by authors. Please ensure you are well aware of these policies.
1.3 Publication Fees
The publication fee for each submission is £250. There are no additional charges based on colour, length, figures, or other elements. AccScience Publishing (ASP) provides expense deduction for authors as appropriate. For more details, please refer to ASP Article Processing Charges.
1.4 Language Editing
All submissions must be presented clearly and cohesively in good English. Authors whose first language is not English are advised to have their manuscripts edited by a native English speaker before submission to ensure high-quality expression. A well-organised manuscript in good English will facilitate a smoother peer review and editorial handling process.
1.5 Work Funded by National Agencies
If an accepted manuscript was funded by national agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the authors should inform the Editors of the funding number. The Editors are able to deposit the paper to the relevant submission systems on behalf of the authors.
2.1 Cover Letter
A cover letter is required with each manuscript submission. It should be concise and explain the study's significance, how it fits within the journal’s scope, and its appeal to readers.
Example Structure for a Cover Letter:
- First Paragraph: Include the title and type of manuscript (e.g., Original Research Article, Review, etc.), a brief background of the study, and the main research question.
- Second Paragraph: Summarise the methods, main findings, and their significance.
- Third Paragraph: Explain why the manuscript fits the Aims and Scope of the journal, and its relevance to the readers.
- Fourth Paragraph: Confirm that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and that all authors approve of the submission. Mention if the manuscript contributes to a Special Issue or if it was presented at a conference.
2.2 Types of Publications
The journal publishes various types of articles, including Original Research, Reviews, Perspective Articles, and Editorials. For more details on each type, please refer to the following table.

Please refer to ASP Research and Publication Ethics for detailed guidelines.
Authorship credit in GT&I should be based on substantial contributions to the work, including conception, design, data analysis, drafting, and critical revisions. All those who meet these criteria should be identified as authors, with their roles detailed in the Author Contributions section of their manuscripts. Those who do not meet the criteria should be acknowledged rather than listed as authors.
Authors are encouraged to suggest three potential reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript. Reviewers should be from different institutions than the authors and should not have collaborated with any co-authors within the last three years. Authors may also exclude up to three potential reviewers and provide reasons for exclusion.
Editorial independence is essential. Editors or staff submitting their own research will be subject to the same double-blind peer-review process, handled by independent members of the Editorial Board.
Generative AI and AI-assisted tools may be used for improving readability and language but should not replace key researcher contributions such as data analysis or scientific conclusions. Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in their manuscripts, and AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Authors must declare any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest. If no conflicts exist, state "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." In cases involving confidentiality agreements, authors should note this limitation in their statement.
Please refer to ASP Editorial Process for details on manuscript review and handling.
