The Journal of Clinical Informatics is an international journal dedicated to the exploration and dissemination of research and advancements in the field of clinical informatics. Clinical informatics, is defined as the application of information technology and data science to healthcare, aimed at improving patient care, enhancing healthcare delivery systems, and optimizing healthcare outcomes.

Editor-in-Chief: Yang Gong, MD, PhD, FIAHSI, is an internationally recognized leader in patient safety research. His pioneering work centers on the design, implementation, and evaluation of cutting-edge informatics tools that improve the reporting and analysis of patient safety events. Dr. Gong is deeply committed to empowering patients and families through active participation in shared decision-making processes via patient-facing technology. He assumed Chair of the AMIA Clinical Decision Support Working Group (CDS-WG) and has been instrumental in advancing the field of clinical decision support and patient safety research. Furthermore, he has played a pivotal role in defining the aims and scope of the Journal of Clinical Informatics, shaping its direction and influence in the field.
