Special Issue Information

The design and development of advanced materials are at the heart of technological advancements in aerospace, marine, and biomedical industries. With the advent of smart design methodologies, which incorporate data-driven approaches, artificial intelligence, and computational modeling, the material design process has shifted from traditional trial-and-error methods to more predictive, efficient, and targeted techniques. This special issue explores the state-of-the-art in smart material design, addressing key challenges, innovations, and future directions for materials engineered specifically for high-performance applications in aerospace, marine, and biomedical fields.

We welcome submissions from academia and industry that focus on the application of smart design principles in these fields, including experimental studies, theoretical advancements, and case studies that demonstrate how intelligent material design is shaping the future of high-performance materials.
