Conference Introduction

The "Traditional Chinese Medicine Phenomics 1.0," initiated in 2008, leverages multi-omics and large-scale clinical cohort studies to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndromes and herbal formulas. This has gradually developed TCM phenomics into a pivotal interdisciplinary field that addresses scientific challenges in TCM, driving its modernization and internationalization. With the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence, digital medicine, and mass spectrometry-based multi-omics technologies, cutting-edge advancements in the life sciences are rapidly evolving. The integration of multi-omics and digital medicine technologies with TCM phenomics not only propels the modernization and scientific transformation of TCM theory and practice but also provides a novel paradigm for precision medicine. To promote scientific research innovation in the fields of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) phenomics, metabolomics, and proteomics, and to enhance academic collaboration and exchange, the "5th TCM Phenomics Academician Summit Forum & the 5th National Metabolomics and Proteomics Dual-Star Summit" will be grandly held in Beijing, the capital city of China, from November 28th to November 30th, 2025. This event is organized by Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, the Institute of Basic Research in Clinical Chinese Medicine at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Shanghai Biotree Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. It is co-organized by the TCM Phenomics Research Institute at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Peking University, the Shanghai Biotree Metabolomics Technology Research Center, the Journal of Digital Chinese Medicine, and the Global Translational Medicine. The event is supported by the Alumni Affairs Office of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shanghai Alumni Association of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lusen Scientific Research, and the Beijing Hot-Heart Biotechnology Research Institute.

This conference, themed "Empowering Traditional Chinese Medicine with Multi-Omics and Digital Intelligence for a Vibrant New Era," focuses on the cutting-edge scientific applications of multi-omics technologies such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) phenomics, mass spectrometry-based metabolomics, and proteomics, as well as digital medical technologies in fields including TCM, precision medicine, and botany. It features four thematic forums for discussion: "Academician Summit Forum: Multi-Omics and Innovative Development in Traditional Chinese Medicine," "Traditional Chinese Medicine Phenomics and Precision Medicine," "Frontier Technologies and Applications in Metabolomics and Proteomics," and "Advances in Multi-Omics Technologies and Digital Medicine Applications." These forums will collectively showcase significant breakthroughs and cutting-edge achievements in relevant fields in recent years.
