Special Issue Information

Parkinson’s disease is a complex neurodegenerative disorder that continues to present major diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Recent advances in genetics, biomarkers, neuroimaging, and digital health technologies are reshaping pathophysiology and clinical management of Parkinson’s disease. Yet, there remains a clinical gap in its prodromal clinical detection and disease modifying therapy that slows its progression. This Special Issue, “New Frontiers in Parkinson’s Disease”, aims to highlight emerging discoveries and innovative approaches across the spectrum of the disease research and care. Topics of interest include early and prodromal diagnosis, novel therapeutic approaches, rehabilitation, wearable technologies, and advances in multidisciplinary care. We welcome high-quality contributions that involve basic, translational, and clinical research and provide new perspectives on improving diagnosis, treatment, and long-term outcomes for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
