Advanced Neurology Initiates Global Recruitment for Youth Editorial Board Members
Advanced Neurology (AN) is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal dedicated to publishing and disseminating novel research in neurology and neuroscience. AN has achieved significant milestones since its inaugural issue in March 2022, including Scopus indexing in October 2024. With its first CiteScore anticipated in 2025, the journal continues to advance the field of neurology.
To further expand AN’s global reach, enhance its scholarly impact, and foster the development of new editorial talent, we are excited to invite young researchers to join our Youth Editorial Board (YEB). This is a unique opportunity for early-career scholars to engage with the journal, share their expertise and creativity, and contribute to its continued growth. We welcome exceptional young researchers to propel AN’s dynamic evolution.
Recruitment Criteria
A solid academic background and outstanding research capabilities, with at least five publications as the first or corresponding author in reputable international journals within the past three years.
Below 40 years of age, holding a Ph.D. or an associate professorship (or higher).
Strong interest in and profound understanding of neurology.
Enthusiastic and proactive engagement in journal-related activities, with a commitment to improving the journal through constructive suggestions and strategies.
Previous experience as an Editorial Board member or reviewer for international journals is preferred.
Responsibilities
Journal Promotion:
Actively promote the journal at international academic conferences or other academic exchange events.
Write promotional articles for newly published research and collaborate on promoting the journal across platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and WeChat.
Participate in Peer Review:
Provide thorough and constructive reviews for a minimum of three manuscripts annually to maintain the journal's high standards.
Contribute High-Quality Manuscripts:
Submit a high-quality research or review article to the journal during your tenure.
Assist in Journal Development:
Collaborate with the editorial team to plan special issues or cover cutting-edge topics aligned with the latest research trends.

Appointment as a Youth Editorial Board member for a two-year term (renewable).

Discounts and waivers on Article Processing Charges (APC):
50% APC discount for reviewing five manuscripts annually.
Full APC waiver for reviewing ten manuscripts annually.
Subject to Peer Review Guidelines and peer-review approval for contributed manuscripts.
Prioritized invitations to academic activities organized by the journal, including virtual and in-person events.
Opportunities to organize special issues as a Guest Editor.
Expedited review and priority publication for contributed manuscripts as the first or corresponding author.
Priority promotion of academic achievements, team development, or recruitment activities on the journal’s official platforms (e.g., Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, WeChat).
Outstanding YEB members may be promoted to regular Editorial Board membership based on contributions.

Selection Process:
Applications will undergo initial screening by the Editorial Office.

Results will be announced, and successful candidates will be notified via email and issued certificates.

We are thrilled to announce that Advanced Neurology (AN) has been accepted for inclusion in Scopus on October 27, 2024. This achievement holds immense significance as it underscores our commitment to disseminating high-quality scientific research. It also stands as a testament to the dedication of our esteemed authors, reviewers, and editorial team, all of whom have collaboratively contributed to the development of AN.
AN is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal that aims to publish and disseminate novel research in neurology and neuroscience. The journal's mission is to advance our understanding of the nervous system and provide a platform for neuroscientists and physicians to share their findings in original fundamental and clinical research and present new ideas that highlight the changes in the neurological clinical practice.
AN will persist in its mission of advancing the frontiers of neurology research and make contributions to the basic and clinical sciences relating to neurology.

Advanced Neurology was Included in the List of Journals Following the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations
We are pleased to announce that Advanced Neurology (AN, Online ISSN: 2810-9619, Publisher: AccScience Publishing) has been listed as a journal that follows the editorial recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) on October 27, 2023 (http://icmje.acponline.org/journals-following-the-icmje-recommendations/).
The ICMJE is a small working group of general medical journal editors and representatives of selected related organizations working together to improve the quality of medical science and its reporting.
In October 2023, under the application of AN, the ICMJE listed AN as a journal that follows the ICMJE's Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals. This gave us great encouragement and confidence to develop AN as a premier, desirable, and transparent international platform for the dissemination of state-of-the-art basic, translational, and clinical studies in the breadth of neurology and neuroscience.
As an academic publishing platform, AN will continuously comply with the guidelines of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and ICMJE, and endeavor to publish more valuable and scientific research findings to promote scientific innovation.

On August 18, 2023, Advanced Neurology (AN, Online ISSN: 2810-9619) was included in the esteemed database, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). This achievement stands as a significant milestone for our journal since its inception in 2022, signifying a remarkable acknowledgment of AN within the global academic community.
The CAS database is founded in 1907 as a volunteer effort to organize published chemistry research, CAS officially became a self-supporting division of the American Chemical Society in 1956. CAS is widely acknowledged as the most comprehensive and authoritative source of chemical and scientific research. CAS provides access to over 150 million records from over 100 countries, including patents, scientific articles, and conference proceedings.
