Dr. Passias earned his MD at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, performed his residency at Tufts University, and completed fellowships at the Hospital for Special Surgery and the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Peter Passias is dedicated to conducting and supporting research that addresses the complex challenges of spinal diseases and deformities. He has authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications and 5 book chapters, received multiple NIH grants, and has received awards and fellowships from the American Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the Scoliosis Research Society, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, the North American Spine Society, and others.
