Aims & Scope

The Journal of Smart Agriculture (JSA) is an open-access international journal dedicated to publishing cutting-edge research and innovations in the application of digital technologies within the agricultural sector. The journal aims to advance the understanding of how digital tools and data-driven approaches can enhance agricultural productivity, sustainability, and food security.

We welcome high-quality original research articles, reviews, case studies, and technical papers that explore the intersection of agriculture and digital technology. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming: Innovative technologies and strategies aimed at optimizing crop production, soil health, and resource management using digital tools, sensors, and automation.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Applications of AI and machine learning in agriculture, including predictive analytics, crop disease diagnosis, yield forecasting, and decision-making systems.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) in Agriculture: The role of IoT devices, sensors, and networks in enabling real-time data collection and monitoring for improved farm management and operational efficiency.
  • Big Data Analytics and Agricultural Informatics: The use of big data and data analytics to improve farming practices, optimize supply chains, and enhance decision-making at both farm and policy levels.
  • Robotics and Automation: Advances in agricultural robotics, drones, and autonomous machinery for tasks such as planting, harvesting, and crop monitoring.
  • Remote Sensing and GIS: The application of satellite, drone, and ground-based remote sensing technologies, along with geographic information systems (GIS), to monitor crops, soil, and environmental conditions.
  • Sustainable and Climate-Smart Agriculture: The role of digital technologies in promoting sustainable farming practices, reducing carbon footprints, and adapting to climate change impacts.
  • Blockchain and Agri-Tech Innovation: The use of blockchain technology in enhancing transparency, traceability, and efficiency across agricultural supply chains.
  • Agricultural Supply Chains and Farm Management: The integration of digital tools for optimizing supply chain logistics, farm-to-fork systems, and improving overall farm productivity.
  • Food Security and Digital Solutions: The application of digital technologies to enhance food security, improve global food distribution, and ensure food safety and quality.
