Special Issue Information

This special issue examines the evolving framework of urban regeneration, moving beyond traditional physical redevelopment to involve a more integrated approach. It explores how contemporary regeneration practices must simultaneously address spatial justice, social cohesion, and environmental resilience. Contributions examine the balance between economic prosperity and social equity, the role of participatory governance in reshaping public space, and the imperative of embedding sustainability at the core of urban transformation. By bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives, this special issue seeks to advance theoretical and practical frameworks for reshaping cities to be equitable, livable, and ecologically responsible.
