Shanxi Bethune Hospital (Tongji Shanxi Hospital) put into use in November 2011. The hospital has 25 administrative departments, 62 clinical and medical technical departments, 20 teaching institutions and 30 scientific research institutions. The hospital covers an area of 583 mu, with a net land area of 500 mu and a building area of 490,000 square meters. 

At present, the hospital has 1 national clinical key construction specialty, 4 academician workstations, 1 leading clinical specialty of "136" Medical Engineering, 12 key disciplines of Shanxi Province, 10 key clinical specialties of Shanxi Province, 2 national specialized nurse training bases and 15 provincial specialized nurse training bases. At present, the hospital has developed into the province's largest, most complete functions, the highest standards, and the strongest modern comprehensive first-class hospital. At the same time, since its construction, the hospital has successively obtained nearly 30 national academic platforms, held more than 110 national academic positions, and won more than 160 national honorary awards.

Tthe hospital has a total staff of more than 3903 people, including 12 special experts from The State Council, 34 post-doctoral supervisors, 32 doctoral supervisors, 154 master supervisors, and 22 second-level and third-level professional and technical personnel.
