Special Issue Information

The integration of sustainable practices into smart energy grids is pivotal for achieving global energy efficiency and environmental sustainability goals. This special issue, titled “Sustainable Systems and Strategies in Smart Energy Grids Development”, aims to provide a platform for discussing innovative technologies, systems, and strategies that enhance the performance, reliability, and sustainability of smart grids. The focus is on emerging advancements such as renewable energy integration, intelligent grid management using artificial intelligence and machine learning, energy storage and conversion systems, electric vehicle technologies, and decentralized energy systems. Special attention will be given to the transformative role of EVs in modernizing energy grids through vehicle-to-grid (V2G) applications, dynamic charging solutions, and their integration with renewable energy sources, Furthermore, the issue seeks to explore the environmental and societal impacts of these advancements, emphasizing nexus and eco-friendly approaches to the development of smart cities. Contributions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers are invited to present cutting-edge solutions and case studies addressing the challenges in developing sustainable smart grids. By bridging gaps between technology, policy, and implementation, this special issue strives to accelerate the adoption of smart and sustainable energy grid systems for pollution free and greener future smart cities.
