Sustainable energy solutions are increasingly critical in addressing global environmental challenges. Key areas such as renewable energy technologies, energy storage, low-carbon buildings, and sustainable urban development are central to achieving a low-carbon future. Innovations in energy storage and conversion, for example, are essential for integrating renewable sources like wind and solar into existing grids, while low-carbon buildings contribute to reducing energy consumption and emissions in the construction sector. Sustainable urban development focuses on creating resilient, energy-efficient cities that can accommodate growing populations while minimising their environmental footprint.
These topics will be explored in depth at the 22nd International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (SET2025), held at Istanbul Atlas University, Türkiye, from 13–15 August 2025. A special issue of the Asian Journal of Water, Environment and Pollution (AJWEP) will expand on the research presented at the conference, offering a platform for further exploration of these critical themes.
By advancing research in these areas, we can accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
