Abstract

We have so far completed two decades of publishing the Asian Journal of Water, Environment and Pollution with contributions from across the globe covering practically every continent. It ts not a small achievement. Hope authors would continue to extend their support in the years to come.
It is noteworthy to mention that California state has taken a lead in charging a man for smuggling banned greenhouse gases! While the war scene in Europe and Middle East do not appear to die down, many international meetings including COP and IPCC have been taking place with some sort of agreement regarding global climate issue. This is a good thing to happen in the times of spiralling fuel costs around the world.
UN warns of climate change impact on farms and rural households run by women in poor countries. Researchers dispute claim that ancient whale was the heaviest animal ever. Climate change is raising Texas’ already high wildfire risks. Faulty warnings, deforestation turned Philippine rains ‘deadly’ study.
Great Barrier Reef seems to be dying due to pollution as well as warming trends in the southern hemisphere. This is only the tip of the many such happenings to world ocean-life system in addition to the well established plastic pollution. We do not seem to go anywhere with respect to improving the world environment for future generations. Hope better sense will prevail to shift our focus away from only economic considerations.
