Abstract

Events on earth are undergoing a big churning with war situation in Europe and Middle East. Certainly it does not do any good for climate mitigation though meeting of nations in UAE just about a month ago tried to add some practical approach with economics and funding for developing regions of the world. It is one thing to talk and agree about costs compensation but another for ground implementation of the same. It remains to be seen how the situation will evolve over time. Let us all hope for the best.
Japan and earthquakes are inseparable; with a high intensity quake, recently, Japan is trying to grapple with relief measures along with quake induced flooding. This in addition to the blow out of two planes on the ground due to collision resulted in some casualties.
Due to vageries of nature, usual winter skiing in parts of Kashmir is impacted - direct climate change effect. Air pollution over Delhi in middle of winter is very alarming and seems no win situation for man and nature as well. Shipping lanes around middle east posing problems for transport of fuels causing artificial increase in price due to long rerouting needed to avoid the war zone areas. More fuel is being used to deliver fuels to many nations - a contradiction of fossil fuel based economy!

Have a happy reading and a very happy 2024!.
